The Field's Story
Run by People
Who Lived It
Plenty of fields are somebody's side business. Palmetto Hills is somebody's life — the owners live right here on the property, and the guy whose name is on it has been in this sport longer than most of our players have been alive.
Paintball Pete
The Name on the Field
Before Palmetto Hills, Pete Russell — "Paintball Pete" — ran the Super 7 series in Australia, back when organized paintball was still being invented. He's been a player, a promoter, and an organizer on two continents, and he built this field the way only someone who's seen a hundred fields can: the way he always wished they were.
Pete and his wife Cathy live on the property. She runs the shop counter; he keeps the operation funded and honest. That's not a franchise — that's a home field in the most literal sense.
Day to Day
The Crew
The field runs on a small crew that plays the sport it serves — refs who carry spare markers so a breakdown never ends your day, a bench that fixes what breaks, and a fully stocked pro shop that will price-match any advertised price rather than watch you buy it somewhere else. And the competitive side runs deep: the C3XL league itself is run from this field.
Come out on a weekend and you'll meet everyone who makes it run. Probably including the dog.
